As you might be aware,
Uganda is a home to 5 million child brides, of these 1.3 million girls are
married before age 15 (UNICEF UGANDA). The situation made it worse by prolonged
closure of schools due to COVID 19 leading to increased rates teenage pregnancy
and Child marriage. Child marriage and teenage pregnancy robs girls of their
childhood and their right to education.
Joy for children
–Uganda is working with Government of Uganda and 141 grassroots civil society
organization support girls already married and those at risk of getting married.
We are supporting education, training local leaders and sensitizing parents in
the value of education. We are also working with parliamentarians and Ministry
of Gender, Labor and Social Development to enhance supervision of government
programs and creating favorable legal and policy environment including the
renewal of national strategy to end child marriage among other interventions.

We are part of the
Global Giving April 2022 Little by Little campaign which runs for 04/04/2022.
Each year, Global Giving has a matching campaign where all eligible donations
up to $50 USD per unique donor per organization are matched at 50% for the
duration of the campaign.
Our campaign goal is
$90,000 and we are only left with $26,593 to reach our goal.
If only 530 people
donated $50 to our campaign to keep girls in school, we would be able to reach
